The Nutrition and Lifestyle Medicine Clinic
The Nutrition and Lifestyle Medicine Clinic
Food and nutrition are hugely important when it comes to living with IBD, yet there is no single diet that works for everyone. There is also so much misinformation and conflicting advice online about what we should or should not be eating for our Crohn’s Disease or Ulcerative Colitis which can leave us feeling totally confused and very restricted with our diets. Dietary advice is often not given to us by medical teams or is incomplete. This is where we come in - we work closely with you to support you to find a way of eating that works for you, your specific type of IBD, your lifestyle, and your likes, dislikes and individual food tolerances. Whether you’re newly diagnosed or have lived with IBD for years, you are in a flare or in remission, or you are pre or post surgery, we can help you to ensure you are getting everything you need from your diet, help you confidently expand your diet, help to reduce your symptoms, feel more confident with food and your IBD, and ultimately improve your quality of life.
The way we live our life plays an important role in IBD.
Focusing on what may be triggering symptoms and flares and building reliance is vital for keeping IBD under control.
We help you to find positive ways to support your health everyday.
We also work alongside world leading IBD specialist psychologists, nurses and gastroenterologists who can provide more support if needed.
From our own experience and working with other people with IBD, we know how scary it can be and how challenging it is to live with, and that’s why we are here to help you find a way forward and live a better life with IBD.
